Don't Be Left Out In the Cold MEIDA the New Thermo-Insulation Material
MEIDA is an innovative high performance thermal-insulation material developed as an affordable interlining material for general outdoor and sportswear and performance/survival clothing and sleep systems.
How does MEIDA differ?
1. MEIDA is an outstanding thermal insulation material made of superfine fibres with extremely high thermal insulation properties. The product was developed over a long period of time and its unique properties have allowed it to be Patented.
2. MEIDA is light, thin and smooth and has superior thermal insulation properties compared to other insulation materials such as Thinsulate. The weight of a shirt made of MEIDA is only 350g, which is the same as the thermal insulation efficiency of two cashmere sweaters.
3. The MEIDA quilting is light, soft, moisture resistant and lofty. MEIDA is available in three different qualities, i.e. thin, medium and thick. The weight of the MEIDA quilting is half the weight of cotton and down quilting making it very suitable for use in the home.
4. MEIDA is used as lining in shirts, jackets, coats, ski outfits, beddings, sleeping bags, shoes, etc.
5. MEIDA is non-allergenic. It is comfortable to wear and is stylish.
6. MEIDA’s different products are all hard-wearing and being an easy-care material it is machine washable – Note: the thermal insulation properties are retained even after washing.
Care instructions: Washing temp.: 30-40oC.
Ironing temp: 120-130oC (If the ironing temperature is higher than 130oC, the fine fibres of polypropylene might be damaged).
7. MEIDA should be stored in the same way as other piece goods and clothing.
MEIDA was created as a new product as the result of numerous thermo-mechanic tests within the area of thermo-insulation. Today, after various market tests, the final design of MEIDA is a reality. MEIDA is produced in a special process with high-tech polymers. During this process superfine fibres of polypropylene in the range of 0.3 to 7.0 µm are produced. Some of these fibres are micro-bonded, whereas others are entangled at random. Such a fibre structure provides a very soft product with an excellent draping capability. The micro-fibres of this product guarantee a very light and thin insulation material. The high total surface area of the superfine fibres provides exceptional thermal insulation. Analyses have shown that the thermal insulation performance of MEIDA can be compared with the insulation of eiderdown.

Garments made of MEIDA are very light and not much different from garments where no insulation material is used. Because MEIDA provides a high breathability, the wearer of MEIDA does not get the sweaty feeling as usual when wearing other kinds of insulation materials. MEIDA is used for producing shirts, jackets, coats, skiwear, skirts, trousers, gloves, bedcovers, shoes, boots, etc. The MEIDA quilt is light and comfortable, which makes this product perfect to be used for sports accessories such as sleeping bags, etc.
MEIDA uses the latest technology within the field of machinery, polymers, test equipment and management.

Please observe when sewing:
1) The ironing temperature should be approx. from 120oC to maximum 130oC. At temperatures higher than 130oC, the fine fibres may become damaged.
2) It is recommended to sew MEIDA with Rasant sewing thread. Experience has shown that this sewing thread has a cooling effect on the needle. Normally MEIDA is stitched to the garment. However, when MEIDA is hanging down loosely, it is recommended to stitch it to the lining or to use over-locking, so that the layers do not split up.
MEIDA is a Registered Trade Mark and has been Patent.
