MEIDA Care Instructions

MEIDA’s different products are all machine washable.  The thermal insulation properties are retained after washing.

Wash at temperature below 40oC.

MEIDA can be ironed.  The ironing temperature should not exceed 120oC.  At temperatures above 120oC, the fine fibres are liable to damage.

It is recommended that the Rasant sewing thread be used to sew MEIDA.  This sewing thread has a cooling effect on the needle.  Normally MEIDA is fully stitched to the garment.  However, when MEIDA is hanging down loosely, it is recommended that it be stitched to the lining or over-locked so that the layers do not split up.

When cutting MEIDA with automated computerised equipment, reduce the speed to “low” or setting the speed to 8 at 1,000-1,500 vibrations to prevent the heat generated by the knife from melting the fine layers.  Some manufacturers, however, solve this problem by applying or spraying silicone on the cutting knife.

MEIDA is extremely suitable for a variety of products.  However, since fashion and types of fabrics are constantly changing, all manufacturers will themselves have to test the finished garment in which MEIDA us used.  The test should include all the known parameters, such as washing, dry-cleaning, ironing fibre migration, wear and tear, etc.
